This mysterious act hailing from the depths of the French underground intends to create a sinister music with occult, tormented and bleak atmospheres, radiating from its creator's inspirations.

The osmosis drawing from this work of art demonstrate the project's maturity through seven tracks which unveil the darkness in each of us. The eerie power emanating from this first release offers a mystical essence to this new piece of Black Art.

This work is leaning towards a spiritual approach where only the music matters, thus allowing the listener to dive deep into Theurgia Mortem, focusing only on the message.

Vurvarat was mostly influenced by Ondskapt sense of tragic melody and Mortuus' sepulchral riffs, but Funeral Mist and Deathspell Omega are still lurking in the background.
These influences will give you an idea of the band's artistic and theological inclination.

No live rituals, no known identity. The band focuses only on its strength, which is the music, in order to deliver a monument devoted to its art and in accordance with its beliefs

Theurgia Mortem will be released in a 300 copies limited digipack.

Bloody hell the vocals here are absolutely majestic; supremely dynamic with loads of variance in style while maintaining a visceral brutality. The atmospheric elements are gracefully and artfully intertwined but make no mistake, this is ruthless black metal first and foremost. Band synergy is also stunning and can be felt through my speakers; everything is just so masterfully packaged together. Faith

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names. Bertrand Marchal
